DoughBoys Donuts is proud to donate all the jelly donuts to the Atlantis Casino for their annual jelly donut eating contest. The hole in the center of donuts appeared in the first half of the 19th Century. The hole allows the donut to cook more evenly.
The largest doughnut ever made was an American-style jelly doughnut. It weighed 1.7 tons, was 16ft wide and 16inches high. It was made in Utica, New York, USA on January 21, 1993.
It seems like variety is not a problem when it comes to the delicious dough. There are some traditional as well as crazy flavors (think seaweed or bacon!). However, when people are asked to name their all-time favorite, the winner on list after list is the tried-and-true: Glazed.
